Dear Editor,
Demico ‘Qik Serv’ has been rooted in our history as a country for many, many years. In Berbice, the Banks DIH- owned restaurant has certainly made its mark on the local culture and on the life of citizens here. However, I do believe that there needs to be vast improvements in the service at this fast-food facility.
I think the employees there—very hardworking—are being given bread to make stones, so to speak. Last Saturday evening, I visited and there were no cones available. There were also no fudgicles. The day before, the fudgicle was very soft and runny, I had to consume it very quickly.
I think they need to have a new cone machine since the cones there are soft and runny! What a mess!
Another point that I want to raise concerns the long line at the cashier booth. Also, more than often it is the cashier who also has to leave her duties and the long line before her and serve the customers! Come on, this is ridiculous! We hear about the large profits made by the N/A Qik Serv restaurant at each year’s Banks DIH Stakeholders’ Function in New Amsterdam, but what is Banks DIH doing to improve the service at this facility. They should start with a new cone machine, pronto! The air-conditioning also needs improvement. And tables should be cleaned up expeditiously as patrons leave.
I hope some changes can be made.
Yours faithfully,
Leon Suseran
