The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport will be repairing several facilities under its control including the National Cultural Centre (NCC) tarmac.
In an ad in the Sunday Chronicle, the ministry invited bids for repairs to the NCC tarmac with the estimated cost being $1.9 million; repairs to the New Opportunity Corps bridges in Region 2 with the estimated cost being $1.1 million; and repairs to internal roads at the Kuru Kuru Training Centre with the cost estimated at $1.5 million. The ministry also invited bids for rewiring of the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with the cost estimated at $6 million; the installation of air-conditioning units at the Walter Roth Museum with the estimated cost being $1.5 million; repairs to the Castellani House fence at an estimated cost of $5 million.
In another ad, the ministry advised that its Community Grounds Enhance-ment Projects is continuing and invited requests for consideration. Community grounds will be considered for repairing and upgrading up to the value of $1 million.
The conditions for consideration of submissions include that the facility must have a Management Committee that should submit/endorse the submission; the request must be approved by the Neighbourhood Democratic Council as well as the Regional Democratic Council; and an engineer’s estimate with an identified contractor must be submitted along with the request.
