Chase Academy utterly defeated Tutorial High by an 8-0 score line when the fourth annual Digicel national under-18 knockout football championship continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue.
Andre Trotz opened scoring for the winners in the 10th minute when his right sided strike from 30 yards out flew straight through the hands of the opposing keeper and fortuitously into the right hand corner of the goal. Their lead was doubled in the 25th minute through a Daniel Ross header into the back of the net, from within the left side of the six yard area, after pouncing on a right sided Trotz cross.
The scores were 3-0 nine minutes later when David Britton scored, lashing his left sided 27 yard effort over the hands of the keeper and into the middle of the net. The score line then ballooned to 4-0 in the 45th minute when Trotz sealed his brace, stabbing home his effort down the middle of the goal from inside the centre of the area, after pouncing on an initial Kareem Knights effort that came crashing off the crossbar.
Isiah Reddy added his name to the scorer’s sheet in the 52nd minute, thumping his left footed effort past the Tutorial keeper, after evading his marker within the left side of the penalty area. Shemar Barrow then assumed the goal scoring burden, netting four minutes later; placing his effort into the lower left hand corner of the goal after collecting a left sided pass within the right side of the box. He completed his double in the 61st minute through a right footed strike into the bottom left corner, following a one-on-one situation inside the centre of the area with the opposing keeper, after latching onto a through-pass. The lopsided result was sealed in the 74th minute through an own goal.
