Gardener remanded on ganja charge

A gardener, allegedly held by the police with a quantity of marijuana, was remanded to prison yesterday after being charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Ricardo Bailey, 28, of Lot 150 Guyhoc, allegedly had 28 grammes of cannabis when he was arrested on June 25 by a police patrol, which observed him with a black plastic bag in his hands. The man immediately dropped the bag upon sight of the patrol, Prosecutor Bharat Mangru told the court. A search later revealed the illicit substance contained within.
