The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has officially shortlisted their national men’s squad for participation in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) U-17 tournament set for July in the Dominican Republic.
The 30-member squad which was selected following the conclusion of the GFF inter-association tournament, will be under the tutelage of head coach Brian Joseph. Chevon Monchoir will serve as assistant coach while Andre Hazel will be the goalkeeping coach. The training staff will also comprise Trevor Beckles and Charlene Henry who will serve as physical trainer and physiotherapist, respectively. Tournament champions, the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) will have six players on the team, along with losing finalist East Coast Football Association (ECFA) and the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA). The East Bank Football Association (EBFA) and the Berbice Football Association (BFA) will have three players each. Closing out the list with two players each are the Essequibo Football Association (EFA), West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) and Bartica Football Association.

The squad will start preparations with a weekend camp starting tomorrow. They will then return on Friday July 4 for two weeks of training prior to the team’s departure on Wednesday July 16.
Guyana has been placed in group three which features Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda and the host nation.
