The decomposed body of a woman discovered in an unfinished building behind the Plaza in North Ruimveldt on Sunday, remained unidentified yesterday, the police said.
Police Crime Chief Leslie James, told Stabroek News that the woman had not been identified up to late yesterday afternoon. He further mentioned that the caretaker was still assisting as the police with investigations into the discovery.
Residents of the area said the woman’s body was discovered by the building’s caretaker around 09:00hrs on Sunday, as he arrived to carry out his rounds. After making the discovery, the man went to the North Ruimveldt Police Station where he made a report.
The building in which the body was discovered, is said to have been in an unfinished state for more than six years.
It is still unclear how the woman gained access to the building, since the gate is usually locked.
