An Albouystown chef was yesterday fined and ordered to perform 52 days of community service after he was discovered to be in possession of two grams of cannabis.
Christopher Small, who appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, pleaded guilty to the charge of narcotics possession.
According to Prosecutor Joel Ricknauth, on June 29, police ranks on patrol in Albouystown carried out a search on Small after they observed him behaving suspiciously. When they discovered three Ziploc bags of seeds, stems and leaves, Small told them, “I gon give yall a thousand if yall give me a chance,” the prosecutor added.
Small was subsequently arrested and escorted to a police station, where he was charged.
Small related to the court that he was a chef at Bettencourt and that he has a two-year- old child. The community service allocated to him by the Magistrate, stipulates that he must perform four hours of service every Saturday at the Palms until the completion of his 52 days.
