BUDAPEST, Hungary, CMC– Reigning World Champion, Trinidad and Tobago’s Jehue Gordon, just missed out on gold in the men’s 400 metres hurdles, at the Istvan Gyulai Memorial meet, in Budapest, Hungary, on Monday.
Gordon clocked 49.89 seconds to seize silver, producing the same time as the winner, Great Britain’s 2011 World Championship gold medallist Dai Greene.
The Hungary outing was Gordon’s second in Europe this season after finishing sixth at the Athletissima IAAF Diamond League meet in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 49.29 seconds–his fastest 2014 run to date.
Thirty-eight-year-old St Kitts and Nevis sprinter, Kim Collins, was the class of the field in the 100m, winning in 10.31 seconds and forcing 23-year-old Qatar sprinter Femi Ogunode into second spot.
Another veteran Caribbean athlete, Bahamian Chris Brown captured the 400 metres, the 35-year-old completing his lap in 45.21 seconds.
