Guyana suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, losing to Bahamas 113-27 in their reclassification matchup when the women’s section of the 2014 Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) championships continued yesterday in the British Virgin Islands. Captain Natasha Adler led the local scorers with 17 points and nine rebounds while next best scorers were Lowquantor Gibson and Tamara Hunter who netted three points each. Jonquel Jones led the Bahamians with 21 points.
She was assisted by Philicia Kelly, Debinique Knowles and Britenique Harrison who netted 17, 17 and 10 points respectively. Opening a 19-point lead following a 29-10 first period, Bahamas would increase their advantage to 40 points as the second period finished 27-6.
Their lead would continue to lengthen as they outscored the Guyanese 29-4 in the third stanza to go into the fourth leading 85-20. The lopsided nature would continue in the final quarter as Guyana conceded a further 28 points while scoring a paltry seven.
