Terror gripped Meadowbrook Drive on Friday night after gunmen shot up two houses in the area.
The shooting occurred around 10.30pm and lasted for five minutes, sources told Stabroek News yesterday.
One of the houses that was riddled was the same property where miner Jason Wills, 33, was gunned down early in 2013. Wills died instantly after a gunman jumped the gate, flung open a door and started firing shots.
A source said she was watching TV when she heard the gunfire. She said it sounded like a machine gun was spraying bullets for a long while and then it suddenly stopped. “Then there was another set of rounds and two cars drove away,” the source said, going on to relate that police arrived on the scene almost immediately. “There were so many police vehicle. I felt so cold when the shots were firing. It was real dreadful,” she said.
A man said he heard over ten shots fired that night, while members of a family said they dropped to the ground in their house, waiting for the gunfire to cease.
Stabroek News was unable to determine if anyone was injured in the shooting.
