Police have received information that murdered Groete River resident Osmond Fiedtkou was last seen in the company of a man days before his body was found, according to Crime Chief Leslie James.
James told reporters last evening following the commissioning of the Guyana Forensic Science Laboratory that with respect to this aspect of the case ranks have spoken to at least three persons.
The 70-year-old man was found on Sunday by police and a community search party about two miles from his Groete River, Essequibo River residence (15 miles below Bartica).
His shotgun, boat and engine are missing.
Relatives said it appeared that he had been killed and dumped at the desolate location. His body bore what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
There are reports that neighbours heard screams followed by a gunshot last Wednesday but they did not investigate.
