An Albouystown man accused of maliciously wounding another man was placed on $75,000 bail yesterday in a city court.
Devon Ross, 31, of Lot 166 Curtis Street, Albouystown denied that he on July 12, at D’urban Street, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Sherwin Davis, with the intent to maim, causing grievous bodily harm, when the charge was read by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
Ross’ attorney, George Thomas, asked the court to grant his client reasonable bail, citing that Ross has two minor children.
Police Prosecutor Bharat Mangru, who did not challenge the bail application, informed the court that the virtual complainant, who was hospitalized has now been discharged.
Subsequently the Chief Magistrate granted the accused bail and adjourned the matter until August 4, when statements are expected to be filed.
