Guyana got their Boys and Girls team title defence’s off to the perfect start, overcoming Bermuda 3-2 and 4-1 respectively when the team section of the 2014 Caribbean Junior Squash Championships commenced yesterday in Hamilton, Bermuda.
On the male side Shomari Wiltshire got the champs off to the perfect start in their Pool-A matchup as he defeated Taylor Carrick in straight sets in their U-13 fixture. Wiltshire took the early lead as he claimed the opening set 11-5. He would quickly double his lead, winning the second set 11-6.
The match-up would be sealed in the third round as Wiltshire prevailed 11-4. Dylan Pratt would then level the score for the host nation as he defeated Alex Cheeks in their U-15 showdown. Pratt would take the early lead in the match-up as he won the opening round 11-8. Cheeks would battle back in the second set,
