The body of a Siriki, Upper Pomeroon River man was reportedly found floating near his home on Sunday after he went missing on Thursday last.
According to information, the swollen body of Sugit Persaud was seen by residents living in the Siriki area on Sunday around 12:45 pm.
This publication was told that the man had left his home on Thursday night with his friends but never returned. After some time had elapsed, relatives formed a search party but the man was still not found. On Sunday, the body of Persaud, who was a labourer, was seen and fished out of the Pomeroon River.
It is unclear how the man met his demise and the body is at the Charity Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
