One of South America’s premier bodybuilders, Koese Soepe is bringing his award winning physique back to Guyana.
President of the Guyana Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GABBFF), Keavon Bess confirmed that the Surinamese muscleman who won the inaugural Flex Night Competition here in 2012 will be the guest poser for the Senior Championships dubbed ‘Muscle Showdown’ on August 2 at the Theatre Guild.
Despite his stature, the 4-foot, 11-inch 153lb mass of striated muscle has an impressive resume’. The Surinamer placed third in the Arnold Amateur Classic (South America) in Brazil three months ago and seventh at the Arnold Classic Europe in Madrid, Spain two years ago.
“With his chiselled arms, deltoids, glutes, back and legs, this little (Suriname) stands out with his symmetrical physique” Bess highlighted.
The GABBFF head also spoke on what patrons can expect on the night of ‘Muscle Showdown’.
“The Federation is rating this year’s competition as one of the most competitive and entertaining with the return of many athletes who had previously taken a break from the sport.”
Bess added that he is anticipating “about 35 prime athletes on stage” and “all of the current big names in local bodybuilding will be battling Kerwin Clarke (reigning Mr. Guyana) for supremacy.”
Notable names that will be onstage include Clarke, former Mr. Guyana, Clint Duke, double CAC gold medallist, Devon Davis, current Novices champion, Sylvester Andrews, Godfrey Stoby, Tremell King, reigning Ms. Physique, Nadina Taharally; and Track and Field Queen Alisha Fortune.
There will also be a Men’s Physique exhibition and ladies competing in the mouthwatering bikini segment.
The annual event will start at 19:00hrs and tickets cost $1500. (Emmerson Campbell)
