Vidol Rawlins, who allegedly fatally stabbed his wife Candy Rawlins more than a week ago at their Crane, West Coast Demerara home is still at large said the Police Crime Chief.

Thirty-year-old Candy, of Crane Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara, was discovered dead by neighbours at 08:45 hrs on July 18, after her 11-year-old daughter, who was tied to a chair with her mouth taped, managed to escape and raised an alarm.

A post-mortem examination later ruled that Candy died as a result of stab wounds to the neck.

Police Crime Chief Leslie James told Stabroek News yesterday that Vidol Rawlins was still at large.

Relatives of the missing man told this newspaper that they had not laid eyes on him since the murder. They further stated that they had not communicated with Vidol for quite some time.

A neighbour who spoke to Stabroek News under the condition of anonymity, described Candy as a “quiet person,” and her husband Vidol as a “friendly man.”

Rawlins is survived by her daughter.
