On his way to visit his daughter on Thursday night, a mechanic died after suffering a suspected heart attack and swerving his car off the road into a trench at ‘C’ Field, Sophia.
A grieving Stacy Moore said her father had left his Waterloo Street, Georgetown residence to visit her late that night. George Moore, 53, died after losing control of his car and plunging his car into a nearby trench along the ‘C’ Field access road.
In a statement, police said the accident occurred at 11pm. It noted that the man was subsequently taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Stacy Moore said when she received the news that her father was involved in an accident, she quickly called her other siblings and mother. She said the Georgetown Public Hospital told that he died of a heart attack.
However, the police indicated that they were still investigating the man’s death.
