The J & C Renaissance Banquet Hall,in Amelia’s Ward, Linden opened its doors on Saturday, the Government Information Agency reported.
Prime Minister Samuel Hinds who commissioned the building, said the development is evidence that Linden is progressing.
“We have moved on from those days of being a company town, this is a transformation that communities face all over the world. Most communities start on a single activity, but all situations change and after some time the conditions change and the initial activity is no longer profitable and there is the challenge of moving on and developing new activities”, he stated, according to GINA.
Hinds congratulated the proprietors of the Banquet Hall, Janice and Carlson Mc Almont on the venture.
The new facility will also serve the community and youths in particular. GINA reported Mc Almont as saying that that soon a programme targeting youths would be launched.
She added that there will be sessions on etiquette, proper dress codes, catering and craft sessions.
