Dear Editor,
If we are to take Swami Aksharananda’s convoluted logic to its eventual conclusion (‘Guyana should get out of the OIC,’ SN, Aug 2) then Guyana should opt out of arrangements with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) since the United States, the majority shareholder in the IMF is a primary ally of Saudi Arabia.
Similarly, we should back out of all arrangements with China, a major ally of Sudan.
It seems to me that his diatribe is emotionally driven.
Take his now familiar gripe on the misunderstanding of Islam.
It would be interesting to learn how he arrived at his conclusion, given that Islam is home to roughly one quarter of the globe’s population (over one-and-a half billion).
Yours faithfully,
Abdul Rahim Forde
