Two men died over the weekend in separate accidents along the East Bank Essequibo public road.
On Saturday evening, Tahl Singh, 73, was struck down along the Orangestein, East Bank Essequibo public road.
‘D’ Division Comman-der Senior Superintendent Ian Amsterdam told Stabroek News that investigations suggest that Singh, of Orangestein, was walking along the road when he was struck down. Amsterdam said that the driver accused of causing the death of Singh claimed that he was blinded by the lights of a minibus proceeding in the opposite direction and had swerved to avoid a collision, after which he felt an impact. Upon checking, the driver saw Singh on the road in an unconscious position, add-ed Amsterdam. Amsterdam did, however, mention the possibility that Singh might
