A Soesdyke miner is now on bail after denying a charge that he assaulted his sister.
Junior Craig appeared before city magistrate Ann McLennan charged with unlawfully assaulting his sister Melissa Craig on August 10.
According to the police’s case against Craig, the siblings had a misunderstanding during which the man dealt his sister cuffs about her body, including her face and arms. Blunt trauma to the body was the result, the court heard.
Craig was granted $50,000 bail and was also placed on a bond to be on good behaviour. His next court date is October 21.
