A supervisor of the Toolsie Persaud Limited, accused of stealing 10 packs of axe saw blades from the company, was yesterday admitted to bail in the sum $75,000 after being arraigned at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
The charge against 34-year-old Indera Mangroo states that on August 11, at Toolsie Persaud Limited, she stole 10 packs of axe saw blades valued $24,000.
Mangroo, of 1960 Guyhoc Housing Scheme, denied that simple larceny charge when it was read to her by Magistrate Ann McLennan before whom she appeared.
No additional facts to that listed in the charge were presented to the court.
The woman’s attorney made an application for bail, while noting that she has no antecedents and poses no risk of flight. The prosecution had no objections to the defendant being granted her pretrial liberty.
The mother of two was then admitted to $75,000 bail. Her matter will be called again on September 12.
