Guyana’s junior badminton ended the individual events of the Caribbean Regional Badminton Championships (CAREBACO) with eight medals following the conclusion of that aspect of the tournament Friday night at the Alfred Sangster Auditorium University of Technology, Kingston Jamaica.
Guyana won a gold through Abosaide Cadogan in the girls U13 doubles, five silver and two bronze medals.
Narayan Ramdhani won silver medals in the boys U17 singles and doubles; Priyanna Ramdhani also won two silver medals in the girls U13 singles and the girls U15 doubles while Jonatha Mangra won a silver medal in the boys U17 doubles.
Winning bronze medals were Priyanna Ramdhani in the U13 mixed doubles and Cadogan in the U13 girls singles.

Under-13 Girls Doubles:
Abosaide Cadogan (GUY) & Waynetta Thomas (TRI) defeated Mackenzie Howard & Kayla Miller of Barbados: 17-21, 21-15, 21-18
Under-15 Girls Doubles:
Last Year runner-ups Priyanna Ramdhani (GUY) & Amanda Haywood (BAR) lost to Taina Daley & Shezelle Mctyson of Jamaica: 21-17, 21-15
Under-17 Boys Singles:
Narayan Ramdhani lost to Shane Wilson of Jamaica: 21-19, 21-16
Under-17 Boys Doubles:
Narayan Ramdhani & Jonathan Mangra lost to Shane Wilson & Dejon Wright of Jamaica: 21-17, 21-13
The Presenatation was done after the Under-11 to 17 Finals and Medals was handed out to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed winners.
President of the Guyana Badminton Association GOkran Ramdhani in a release to the media stated that his association was “extremely pleased with the performance of the team.”
According to Ramdhani the players are heading in an upward direction for the last seven years.
He noted that they have gotten better evidenced by the fact that they have won medals at every international junior event to date.
