Guyana’s Claude Blackmore is currently doing duty at the athletics competition of the first Pan American Sports Festival which got underway
at the Jesus Martinique “Palilio” Stadium in Mexico City on Saturday.
Guyana’s Blackmore, a former president of the local athletics association, is one of nine International Officials who have been appointed for duty.
Guyana’s sole Internation Official, Blackmore, will see duty on the Jury of Appeal.
This is Blackmore’s third such appointment for 2014, but the second that he will be taking up as he he missed the Carifta Games in Martinique over the past Easter weekend.
The Association of Panamerican Athletics (APA) under whose authority the competition falls, has scheduled it in such a manner that the performances of athlestes would be taken into consideration as “qualifying” marks for next year’ PANAMERICAN GAMES, to be held in Canada.
