Only two companies submitted bids when the retender contract for repairs to the internal roads in Le Repentir Cemetery was opened yesterday.
The bids were opened at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), Georgetown.
The contract was first opened on July 8th last and then 11 bids were received.
However on August 3rd the notice of retendering was issued and an invitation to bid for the contract was advertised in the press. The project was part of a two-lot tender.
The Ministry of Local Government has said that $100 million of the $500 million set aside for the clean-up programme for the city this year is expected to be expended on cleaning up Le Repentir Cemetery.

Minister of Local Government Norman Whittaker has stated that works will commence this month and should be completed by December.
The ministry had also advertised the retender of two other projects. The projects are the extension of the Mabaruma Market Tarmac in Region 1 and the procurement of one radio system with accessories. No one bid for the radio system but the bids for other projects are shown in the respective tables below.
