The Bureau of Statistics’ website was up and running again yesterday after being suspended since Monday.
Speaking to Stabroek News yesterday, the Bureau’s Chief Statistician, Lennox Benjamin, said that the company which maintains the Bureau’s website indicated on Monday that there were issues with the site and that there was need for corrective measures. A reporter from this newspaper visited Benjamin’s office around 3:30 pm on Tuesday for him to provide clarity on the website’s suspension but he was said to be in a meeting.
Benjamin now says that the company which maintains the Bureau’s site suggested that it be suspended until it completed whatever corrective works were needed.
