The flood-prone Parika stelling will soon undergo rehabilitative works as cabinet yesterday announced that it had granted its no-objection for the $31.4M project.
Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon made the announcement at his weekly post- cabinet press briefing.
Stabroek News was told that since the stelling was prone to flooding some of the works will be done to raise the deck to prevent this.
On July 18th last, five companies placed bids for the contract which had an engineer’s estimate pegged at $32.8M. It is unclear which company was awarded the contract as the $31.4M figure was not reflective of any of the five bids stated.
