The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) 10s league continues tomorrow with another double header at the National Park. Hornets will play the UG Wolves in the first fixture at 15:30hrs then the rugged GDF outfit will tackle the Yamaha Caribs one hour later.
In the games played last Saturday, the student ruggers bounced back from their nail-biting 17-19 loss at the hands of the GDF by schooling the Caribs 42-34.
Led by national captain, Ryan Gonsalves, the Hornets handed the militia men a stinging 42-12 defeat in their game to oust GDF from the top of the points table.
Hornets leads the points standing on six followed by GDF and UG who are on four points apiece.
Theo Henry’s Caribs are in the cellar without a point.
Beach rugby
Meanwhile, in an effort to spread the exciting game around the country, the GRFU is capitalizing on an ongoing summer camp in Linden featuring Beach Football.
The union will be inserting a two-day session from today for aspiring rugby players of diverse ages.
According to a press release from the union, the sessions will be conducted at the Wismar beach facility.
The union would be sending Youth Development Officer (YDO), Theo Henry along with volunteers Nicole Nero and Joseph Rahaman.
