A man was critically injured after he was involved in an accident on the Walton Hall Public Road yesterday.
According to information, at around 1pm yesterday, Ramesh Jaigopaul was riding his motorcycle when a bus slammed into him.
The man was thrown off of the cycle and sustained injuries to his back and ribs. He was picked up and rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital and later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle at the time is in police custody assisting with investigations. When Stabroek News visited the Suddie Public Hospital, Jaigopaul’s family was anxiously awaiting information on his condition.
His wife, Kawalli Chattergoon said that she was at home when a neighbour called and told her that Jaigopaul was involved in an accident.
“Is not far from home the accident happen. When I hear I didn’t leave home because I was confused. Ramesh was riding coming home from Paradise. I don’t know how it happen because me aint went there,” the woman said.
Jaigopaul’s condition was listed as critical by doctors and he was attached to a life support machine at the hospital.
The police are conducting investigations.
