David Black Guyana U-19 manger and coordinator of the Berbice segment of the Kiddy Summer Camp, said he viewed the camp as a success and was thankful that the GCB brought the camp to Berbice.
“I was impressed by the amount of talent that was present at the camp,” he said.
“However, there must be a follow up program to monitor the players that can elevate to the higher level,” said Winston Smith, one of the several coaches involved in the programme.

Colin Stuart, Territorial Development Officer of the GCB, thanked Scotiabank for its involvement. He said that he believes the initiative is good for future prospects who are looking to improve their game and it also kept the young players occupied during their school break.
Stuart gave high praises to the coaches from the three counties who he said were objective and constructive during the camp. He said that while it will be an annual camp, for the next edition there is expected to be an extended duration (increase amount of days for the camp) and more attention will be placed on personal development.
In total over 200 hundred players, ages 11 years and under, attended the camp which was held in all three of the counties over a two-week period. A total of 40 of the outstanding performers were rewarded for their performances in the various departments of the game. These areas comprised of fielding, batting, bowling and wicket keeping.
