The man accused of the fatal stabbing of gold miner Glendon Cox was yesterday charged and remanded to prison.
Desmond James was not required to enter a plea when he was arraigned before city magistrate Judy Latchman.
The charge against him states that on September 1, at 4 Miles Arakaka Village, North West District, he murdered Cox.
No other details about the charge were presented in court.
James, who was unrepresented by an attorney, was informed that he would be remanded to prison until September 8, when the case will be called at Court One.
On Tuesday, a tearful Esther Cox had recalled that she received a telephone call from her nephew at around 3:30 am on Monday and he told her that her brother had been stabbed to death.
She said Glendon, who was a father of two, celebrated his 46th birthday on August 22.
