Police have released CCTV images of a man who is suspected to be the shooter of the Delicious Restaurant waitress, and are asking the public to help identify and locate him.
Two weeks ago Debra Blackman, a waitress, was shot in her head by a man she had just finished serving. On August 23, the gunman walked into the restaurant which is located between Haley and Hardina streets and shot her. Considering that a box of food was found on the counter following the shooting it has been assumed that this represented the gunman’s order. Seconds after the shooting the man was seen walking out of the restaurant and he subsequently jumped onto a CG motorcycle which sped off.
The video footage captured the face of the shooter; part of the footage seen by this newspaper showed a young man, dressed in a grey t-shirt, dark-coloured pants and a red cap, standing by the counter.
These images were released to the public by the Guyana Police Force. They are asking anyone with information that may lead to his identification and location to contact the police on 225-6411, 225-2227, 227-1149, 226-7065, 225-8196, 911, or the nearest police station.
“All information will be treated with strict confidence,” said Public Relations Officer Ivelaw Whittaker in a press statement.
Blackman, a mother of five, sustained a single gunshot wound. The bullet entered her body through her neck and exited through her shoulder.
