A 56-year-old handyman was put on a bond to keep the peace and he was also fined $25,000 after he pleaded guilty to using threatening language to his reputed wife.
When Charles Caines appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, he pleaded guilty to the charge.
He had used threatening language to Latisha Archer on May 19, in Georgetown. Caines admitted that he had told his reputed wife he would kill her but said, “I didn’t mean it.”
He was later fined $25,000 or two months imprisonment and was also ordered to receive counselling from Help & Shelter. However, he requested time to pay the fine and was given three months.
