The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) has said it plans to discuss fines and suspensions among other issues at its general council meeting set for Saturday September 20.
All associations that fall under the purview of the Federation are expected to attend the meeting at the Cara Lodge Inn on Quamina Street.
These associations are the Berbice Amateur Basketball Association (BABA), Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA), Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA), Guyana Basketball Officials Council (GBOC), Guyana Women’s Basketball Association (GWBA), Georgetown Masters Basketball Association (GMBA), GT Pioneers Basketball Association (Veterans) and the Coaches Association.
The agenda also includes the return of Guyana national uniforms by players, election of GABF Secretary and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, GABF Policy on Social Media, Reports from affiliates on their basketball activities and the GABF Plans for the September 20-December 31 period and issues surrounding the sport here.
With regards to the filling of the two vacant aforementioned posts, only members whose subscriptions are in good standing with the federation will be eligible to vote. The current members who are in good financial standings are the LABA, BABA, GABA and the GBOC. Members who have not paid or fully paid their membership fees have until Wednesday, September 17 to attain voting rights at the meeting.
