Dear Editor,
1 refer to the article ‘Bidders: Health ministry did not notify of drug supply decision as required by law’ on page 10 of Stabroek News dated September 9, 2014 by Marcelle Thomas and wish to set the record straight.
To date the Ministry of Health has not been officially notified of any awards as it relates to the procurement of drug and medical supplies. As soon as the Ministry of Health is officially notified, both successful and unsuccessful bidder(s) will be informed.
As it relates to the concerns raised by International Pharmaceu-tical Agency (IPA) about their letter sent to the Ministry of Health on July 30, 2014, protesting NPTAB findings, a written response dated August 27, 2014 was dispatched to the IPA (a copy of this response will be resent to IPA).
In the case of the allegations made by Fedders Lloyd Corporation Limited of India, the Ministry of Health wishes to inform the public that a response was made via an email attachment dated September 4, 2012 to that company.
It is my hope that this response cleared any misconceptions.
Yours faithfully,
Leslie Cadogan
Permanent Secretary
