Sterling Products Limited (SPL) has introduced 13 youth to the world of work in a recently completed two-month work study programme.
According to press release, SPL hosted the 13 students from various high schools as a part of an annual programme which has been in existence for more than 10 years.
This year’s programme concluded on August 28 with a gift presentation to students, the company said. SPL Chief Executive Officer (ag) Deodat Indar told the students that the company was proud to have provided an opportunity for them to acquire work experience and explore their strengths in a corporate setting and he hoped they would have learned something from their experience.
Two of the students, Reona Persaud and Ravita Latchman expressed their gratitude to the management and staff of SPL on behalf of the work study group, the release said. Persaud, in her vote of thanks said it had been a pleasure working there for the past two months gaining new knowledge, skills and experience. Latchman was appreciative for the accommodation at a company with an enviable record of innovation as the experience was invaluable.
SPL said it remains committed to playing an integral role in the growth and development of the nation’s youth and will continue to support initiatives in that regard.
