A man accused of a gunpoint robbery was remanded to prison yesterday.
Kevin De Harte, of 416 Kaneville, was brought before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, accused of robbing Ryan Harry at gunpoint on September 15.
He pleaded not guilty. According to reports, De Harte and two other men approached Harry at High Street and relieved him of $15,000. The two other men are yet to be found and investigations are ongoing.
Prosecutor Michael Grant said that bail should be refused based on the seriousness of the offence and taking into consideration that De Harte had been tried and convicted for a similar matter.
As a result, bail was refused and De Harte’s next court date is September 30.
