The 12th annual Flying Stars Cycle Club/Victor Macedo Memorial Road Race will pedal off this Sunday outside the late Macedo’s Peter Rose and Lance Gibbs streets, Queenstown home from 07:30 hrs.
According to organisers of the event, the cyclists will officially start on Homestretch Avenue.
Veterans and female cyclists will turn back at the Linden/Soesdyke junction, while seniors and juniors will turn back at Long Creek on the Linden Highway and finish at the point of origin (approximately 80 miles).
The first eight seniors, first four juniors, first three veterans and two female finishers will all be awarded prizes.
Additionally there will be 12 prime prizes at stake.
Last year’s winner was Marlon Williams.
Usual suspects Raynauth Jeffrey, Alanzo Greaves, Robin Persaud, Hamza Eastman, Michael Anthony and Paul DeNobrega are expected to be on their saddles. (Emmerson Campbell)
