A man was tied up and placed in the trunk of his car and a woman he was with was raped, when three masked bandits held them at gunpoint aback of Amelia’s Ward Linden.
Up to press time last evening there was no word from police on the arrest of any suspects.
According to a police press release about 2205 hours on Friday three masked men armed with handguns robbed the man, aged 32, of one cell phone valued at $7000 and $1,200 in cash, and the woman, aged 20, of one blackberry cell phone valued at $42,000 and gold jewellery. The man according to reports out of the mining town, owns his own business.
According to the release investigations revealed that the couple were sitting in a motor car aback of Amelia’s Ward, Linden, when they were approached by the men who relieved them of the articles mentioned. They then locked the man in the trunk of the car and raped the woman.
Thereafter they escaped into the bushes at the back of Amelia’s Ward.
