Two 16-year-old boys were yesterday charged and sent to the Juvenile Holding Centre at Sophia when they appeared before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Charity Magistrate’s Court.
The two boys, who both work as labourers, were charged separately with the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
According to the police, on September 20 at around 1.15 am, the police were on mobile patrol at Pitch Road, Anna Regina when they saw the two young men walking.
They were stopped and searched and in each of their right side pants pockets, the suspected cocaine was found, which when weighed amounted to 4 grammes each.
The teens were not represented in court and they both pleaded not guilty to the charge. The two will return to court on October 14 for the commencement of trial.
