Two recent stories involving AFC headmen caught my attention. They are on shaky ground in both instances.
First, Mr Ramjattan confirmed what has been the solid conviction (or going gyaff) of lots of citizens. It is that moves and activities related to ‘Two Votes Wanted,’ and ‘Enrich Democracy with Your Vote’ and ‘Vote and Let Your Cup Run Over’ were all but public secrets, and part of the advertising grapevine. A closer look tells part of the story.
Only two votes are required. Then since money is not a problem, 30 million should be seen as a starting figure, the first card only. I mean the ante could be raised to 130 million, if the circumstances so warrant. Think about this: any two potential sellers (and there might be competition) would have to recommence life somewhere else in the equivalent of a Witness Protection Programme, as they would be tarred and feathered and then run out of town. So 30 million will not get the job done. Voting is the easy part; it is living with the fallout and comrades thereafter. Further, it is known that the PPP is desperate, and has limitless funds, then at 130 big ones, this could be a done deal. Because of all of this, I believe that Mr Ramjattan has to keep looking around, over his shoulder, and in the dark at his surroundings and surrounding cast.
Second, I hear that Mr Nagamootoo has expressed hope in the management skills of the new GuySuCo chairman to rescue that company from where it is. I would recommend that this comrade has his optimism and head examined. Where has the new chairman excelled? In which place of his life, what time of his professional career, and portion of his responsibility has the new chairman done passably well? Passably well, not outstandingly so. Moreover, look at all those boards, including GuySuCo’s, and it becomes painfully obvious that they are etchings of concentric circles housing mainly misfits, failures, lost causes, two bit hustlers, and party hacks, whose only claims to recognition are loyalty, concealing information, opportunism, and following orders. In terms of the latter scrutinize the GuySuCo Board, or any other, and it is easy to discern that many of them could not lead a dog to a bone by themselves; they would need a manual and a video to help them, and then a tutor, too.
Thus, all they have to do is to warm seats, and wait for directions from Robb Street HQ. That is their job, their only job, and their sole purpose. They like it, and they are good at it. Now if Mr Nagamootoo wishes to hope, that is his right; this, however, speaks very poorly as to his own management of himself. It would appear that on both issues, the AFC leaders are in trouble.
