WR Reaz is a household name on the tube and on the radio, but he is also looking to make waves with the checkered flag on the race track.
The television presenter and radio announcer is aiming to do so by taking his talents to the South Dakota Circuit on Sunday when the GMR&SC stages its Race of Champions meet.
“I am fit, eager and ready for the challenge, I am on extra boost like 2 weeks now,” Reaz told Stabroek Sport yesterday.
The Group 2 and 3 speed demon added that “Team Sarhn/Team Wrecker are prepared, it’s a good start for us and mechanically both of the cars are in good shape especially the Group3 (which was Group 2B) car 397.
The EP 82 starlet we had two back to back weekends of testing which was successful”.
Reaz highlighted that Chief mechanic, “Saeed Bacchus is pleased with our Starlet after successful testing and we are going to drive in two groups for the first time with the new rules which we are not in favour of at the moment but will have to make much of it.”
The ace driver noted that his Group 2 machine is not the best but he will “go out and battle for supremacy and have a good day.”
Before putting pedal to the metal on Sunday in front of thousands that will throng the venue, Reaz mentioned that he truly appreciates the love and support that he has received from his fans leading up to the meet.
He also thanked his sponsors, parents and Team 397 for their blessings and support.
Reaz will compete in the Group 2 and 3 categories but Group 1 and 4 driver along with the Go-Kart pushers will provide exhilarating, adrenaline rushing excitement to race fans.
So too will the Super Bikers.
Drivers from Suriname and Trinidad will also add some international flavor to the meet.
Action starts from 10:00hrs.
