With only two games remaining and the championship mathematically clinched, Grove Hi-Tech continued their dominant run in the Stag Beer sponsored East Bank Football Association division-one league, defeating Soesdyke Falcons 4-0 on Sunday last at the Grove Playfield.
Domini Garnett led the way for the winners with a hat trick in the 43rd, 52nd and 63rd minutes respectively while Devon Joseph netted a solo effort in the 59th minute.
On a negative note, the other scheduled match between Agricola Red Triangle and Kuru-Kururu Warriors was unfortunately abandoned following a mini-fracas between opposing players.
Action is expected to be taken against the players at the centre of the issue. The score line at the time of the stoppage was 3-2 in the favor of Agricola. Gordon Grant gave Agricola the early lead as he opened the scoring with a 23rd minute conversion.
The Warriors would quickly answer back, taking the lead in the space of three minutes as Franklin Medouze and Christopher Fraser netted in the 27th and 30th minutes respectively.
However, Agricola Red Triangle would retake the advantage in the second period as Winston Rawlins and Lumumba Hinds netted in the 55th and 60th minutes correspondingly.
