The Young Warriors Cricket Club of Cumberland Village, East Canje, Berbice is asking the general public to assist them to recovering their pitch covers stolen from the ground recently.
According to an email sent by the club, the covers were supposedly stolen two nights ago.
“The members of the club have expressed shock and disappointment that people can be so low and heartless to steal such an important piece of equipment which is used to care the cricket venue,” the Club stated in the e-mail.
The club is calling on the police to apprehend the perpetrators and deal with them accordingly.
The club has produced many national cricketers and has made a difference in the lives of many people in the Canje area.
