Cleveland Thomas and Matthew McKenzie will be running brave in their upcoming meets with some new gear and improved nutrition.
The two standouts of the Running Brave Athletic Club who will compete in the Courts 10km road race on Sunday, were recipients of athletic kits and supplements yesterday, compliments of the Wind Jammer Hotel and the Professional Key Shop.
During a simple presentation ceremony yesterday at the Professional Key Shop on Carmichael Street,
owner of the entity, Kwame Ridley along with CEO of Wind Jammer, Carey Griffith, handed over gear and supplements to Thomas and McKenzie.
“We just came onboard and decided to sponsor these two athletes ahead of the Courts 10km on Sunday,” said Griffith. “I think they will do great,” he added.
Griffith said he thinks “these guys have great potential.
I see them running and training hard in the park so we just decided to come together and give them some supplements and some other things that they would need to improve their timing and overall performances.”
The benefactor maintained that yesterday’s kind gesture would not be a one-off scenario.
“As time goes on, we will see what they need and how best we can meet it and continue to support them,” he added.
With the new gear and supplements, Thomas who has been a perennial runner up to distance dynamo, Cleveland Forde, is optimistic of new results.
Thomas and McKenzie thanked their two sponsors and in the same breath exuded confidence ahead of Sunday’s road race.
