Automated voting machines (AVMs) will be introduced at the University of Guyana’s Student Council (UGSS) elections this year in an effort to boost student confidence in the electoral process.
According to a release from the university, the new feature will allow for the casting, tabulation and generation of the statement of polls and is expected to improve the integrity of the vote count, therefore allowing students to have more confidence in the legitimacy of the elections.
The new technology was made available through a partnership with the university,
