The tournament, which started two weekends ago, continued yesterday at the President’s College tennis court as a tribute to the late Bakewell Chief Executive Officer, Naeem Nasir. Nasir personally financed the construction of the tennis court there in April 2012 in support of the work of the tennis association and to provide students of the school and nearby villages with an opportunity to learn the great game of tennis. When contacted by tournament coordinator Shelly Daly-Ramdyhan, the school’s management said it was ready to host tournament matches on site.
The 12-year-old tennis prodigy Kalyca Fraser will to take on 16-year-old U18s and ladies champion Nicola Ramdyhan. Several Medley U10 matches will also be played on the same day as the boys U14 finals.
