After he allegedly assaulted his wife, a fisherman from Westbury, Essequibo Coast was yesterday granted bail at the Charity Magistrate’s Court.
Magistrate Sunil Scarce heard that on August 30 at Westbury, 43-year-old Sildon Holder went to his home at around 4.45 pm and started to verbally assault his wife, Monique Holder.
He then took his plate and threw it at her, pulled her hair and choked her. His daughter then pulled him away and Monique Holder escaped to her mother’s house.
A report was made to the police and Holder was later arrested and charged.
The man who was not represented pleaded not guilty to the charge and he was granted $30,000 bail. He will return to Court on October 13 when the matter is expected to be called again.
