To facilitate this process, the Authority is currently installing the requisite utilities, including internet access, at its booth in the Service Pavilion of the Sophia Centre, it said in a press release.
As a precondition for accessing tax information, members of the public will be asked to provide their Tax Identification Number (TIN). A team of tax specialists and public relations officers manning the booth will also be available to answer questions and offer advice on any tax related matter. Booklets and other publications will also be available free of cost. GuyExpo is set to run from October 2-5. According to the GRA, GuyExpo provides yet another opportunity for it to fulfil its mandate of promoting compliance through education. This mandate has informed the authority’s participation in other public events like the Berbice Expo and Career Fair activities. Taxpayers should always be knowledgeable about their current tax status to ascertain whether they are indebted to the GRA or entitled to a refund.
