Huge ganja cultivation destroyed at Hauraruni

Yesterday, ranks of the Police Narcotics Branch conducted a drug eradication exercise at Hauraruni, Upper Demerara River.

Police say that ten fields totaling about fifteen acres in size were found with approximately 17,000 Cannabis Sativa (Marijuana) plants ranging from 1-8 feet in height under cultivation, along with twenty five nurseries with about 9000 seedlings, and seven camps. They were destroyed.

No arrest has been made.
